About Me

In the summer of 2022, I left my job as Head of Marketing at an e-commerce company to try something new.

I wanted to see what it would be like to work in a classroom. So I got my New York State Teaching Assistant Certification and went to work as a TA in a special education program for high school students. I loved the job; it didn’t feel like work. (Bonus: instead of getting 100 emails a day like I used to, I got maybe two.)

In the months following my career change, I was asked to guest lecture at a couple of universities. I spoke to undergrads at one college about digital marketing strategy, and I spoke at another about advertising research. I loved those experiences; engaging with students about topics I’m passionate about was truly rewarding.

Filling the Gaps

I became an expert in marketing communications during my 30-year career. To supplement my on-the-job learning, I earned a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication at SUNY Oswego. I also learned how to be an effective college instructor through a Higher Education Teaching Certification program offered by Harvard’s Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning.

Fast-forward to 2026: I currently work as an adjunct faculty member at universities in the New York tri-state area. I create engaging advertising and marketing courses and instruct diverse learners in person and online. The specific topics that I enjoy teaching include off- and online advertising, PR and crisis communications, content marketing, digital marketing strategy, and branding.
